Muckleford to Maldon Bushwalk 9th October 2024
Join us for a scenic bushwalk on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, starting from Muckleford at 10:00 AM and heading to the historic town of Maldon, followed by a charming return journey aboard the Victorian Goldfields Railway steam train.
The walk covers approximately 9 km through rolling bushland, tracing the path of the Castlemaine-Maldon railway line.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy the tranquil beauty of native flora and fauna, as well as the echoes of the region’s rich gold-mining history. The terrain is gently undulating, making it a pleasant and moderately paced walk suitable for all fitness levels. The walk is expected to take around 2.5 hours, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.
We’ll arrive in Maldon around 12:30 PM, where you can either:

After lunch, we’ll meet at the Maldon railway station to catch the Victorian Goldfields Railway steam train, departing at **2:45 PM**. The train journey back to Muckleford takes about 25 minutes, arriving at 3:10 PM, a delightful way to finish the day.
