navigating your way along any part of the Great Dividing Trail
(Goldfields Track) an easy task.
Don’t expect to see any meaningful data if you attempt to open a GPX file by clicking on it – its main use is in mapping software and for GPS device upload.
With the launch of the second edition of the Goldfields Track: Walk or Ride Guide on December 18, the Goldfields Track between Mt Buninyong and Creswick was titled ‘Eureka Track’. The walking route has been amended to follow the dual-use Canadian Creek Trail between Mount Clear and the Ballarat CBD. The official cycle route is unchanged along the Yarrowee River, but riders are free to follow the walk route along the Canadian Creek Trail if preferred.
The title “Wallaby Track” now refers to the Goldfields Track from Creswick to Lake Daylesford only.

Lerderderg Track Walk
From Bacchus Marsh Station to Lake Daylesford via Bald Hill, Swans Road, Lerderderg State Park, Mount Blackwood, Blackwood and Jubilee Lake. Note that many parts of this track are not suitable for mountain-biking.
Eureka Track Walk
From the summit of Mt Buninyong to Creswick Rail Station via Buninyong, Canadian Creek Trail, Ballarat CBD, Ballarat Rail Station, Brown Hill, Slaty Creek, St Georges Lake and Creswick township.
Wallaby Track Walk
From Creswick Rail Station to Lake Daylesford via University of Melbourne Creswick, La Gerche Trail, St Georges Lake, Dean, Mollongghip, Wombat Station and Sailors Falls (short diversion).
Dry Diggings Track Walk
Includes links to Daylesford Visitor Information Centre, Hepburn Springs Reserve and Castlemaine Rail Station.D
Leanganook Track Walk
Includes Castlemaine and Bendigo Rail Stations.D

This file covers the two connections from the GDT proper to the Leanganook Camping Ground.
Creswick Heritage Walk
This walk starts from the Creswick Visitor Centre in Albert Street and takes in the University of Melbourne Creswick Campus with its historic buildings and gardens, Creswick Regional Park including the Landcare and La Gerche Trails, Brackenbury Hill Lookout and St Georges Lake with its delightful picnic and swimming area. The distance is 8.5km. Grade Easy-Medium. There is a steep climb up Brackenbury Hill.
Daylesford Circuit Walk
This walk starts at the Lake Daylesford Entry Station and after traversing the western and northern sides of the lake climbs to Cornish Hill. Next along the way is Jubilee Lake, before returning to the start point passing Victoria Park. The distance is 6.5km. Grade Easy-Medium. There are several short climbs.
Eureka Track Ride
From the summit of Mt Buninyong to Creswick Rail Station via Buninyong, Mt Clear, Yarrowee River Trail, Ballarat CBD, Ballarat Rail Station, Brown Hill, Slaty Creek, St Georges Lake and Creswick township.
Wallaby Track Ride
From Creswick Rail Station to Lake Daylesford via St Georges Lake, Dean, Mollongghip and Wombat Station.
Dry Diggings Track Ride
Includes links to Daylesford Visitor Information Centre, Hepburn Springs Reserve and Castlemaine Rail Station.
Leanganook Track Ride
Includes Castlemaine and Bendigo Rail Stations.
Monk to Chewton Connection Walk/Ride
It is possible to bypass Castlemaine by using this route.
Ballarat Circuit Walk/Ride
This walk starts from the southern edge of the Ballarat CBD and follows the Canadian Creek and the Yarrowee River between there and Mount Clear. It can be done in either direction but is easier clockwise. The distance is 13.5km. Grade Easy-Medium clockwise. If done anti-clockwise there is a long climb on Whitehorse Road, Mount Clear.
Chewton Circuit Walk/Ride
Leaving from the Garfield Water Wheel, the walk visits the Welsh Village and slate quarry, then on to Expedition Pass Reservoir, before returning via Forest Creek. Distance is 9.3km. Grade Easy-Medium. Quite undulating walk with generally easy gradients.
Bendigo Circuit Walk/Ride
From the Bendigo Rail Station, walk or ride to Spring Gully and then return via Diamond Hill and Salomon Gully Flora Reserve and Quarry Hill. Distance is 13km. Grade Easy-Medium. Easy gradients.
Ararat Circuit Walk/Ride
This file provides the main walking or riding circuit from Ararat Rail Station. Distance is 14.5km. Grade Easy-Medium. Other than one climb mid-walk the terrain is generally quite flat.
