Mount Beckworth is one of the mountains in Barry’s ‘Six Peaks Speak’ State Library Victoria Creative Fellowship research and writing project in 2023.

Meet 9.30am at Glendaruel CFA, 1 Kinnersleys Road, Glendaruel, 3363 (most people will drive to Glendaruel via Creswick, Ascot & Coghills Creek).

From Glendaruel, we’ll drive in convoy 5km to the start of the walk on the southern end of the Mount Beckworth Range off Coutts Road. The walk comprehensively explores parts of Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve.

Some steep climbing and descending on slippery, rocky slopes, some off track. Dress for the predicted weather, bring lunch, drinks and morning tea. We’ll be back at the start by approx 2.30pm.

It is recommended, you carry a first aid kit, your own medication, drinking water and food for morning tea and lunch.

Bookings are essential and open 2 weeks before the date and close on the friday before.
