GDTA TRAIL RIDE – SUNDAY 14 MARCH

LYONVILLE – SPRINGS, COFFEE, CAKE

Sunday 14 March, 1000 START. Please be ready to roll.

EASY – mainly off-road but not technically difficult.  Does need a modicum of fitness.  Suitable for fit youngsters who ride.

DESCRIPTION:  11/km ride from Lyonville on forest tracks and roads. Requires sturdy tyres for the mix of clay, stone and occasional rocky surfaces. Visiting Lyonville Springs, rounding the base of Babbington Hill, dipping down to Bullarto Reservoir then back across the mighty Loddon River to Cafe de Lyonville for espresso and great value genuine country cakes and bikkies. Bring extra $ to buy home made jams, chutneys.

Afterwards you could ride the Green (Easy) 14km or Blue (More difficult) 15km circuit that is to appear in GDTA’s coming Central Victorian Highlands Walk and Ride Circuits book.

REGISTRATION: The ride will be led by Ken Dowling. To register, email maps@gdt.org.au providing;
1. Names of all your riders along with individual contact numbers.
2. Whether you will use the community Cafe de Lyonville (needed to assess Covid compliance).
3. Whether you intend to later ride the Green or Blue circuit so I can print a map for you. .

HEALTH & SAFETY: COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time of ride will apply. 

BRING: Your personal or family 1st aid kit, any required medications, water bottles, sun screen, (marsh fly repellent if they are still about), ride snacks and usual riding gear appropriate for predicted weather. No lunch stop as cafe available.

MEET: Location details for the start will be confirmed on registration. Registrations essential by Friday 12 March.
