Andersons Tramway Walk/Ride

Mollongghip – Wombat Station

The Andersons Tramway Walk criss-crosses a 19th century tramway system used to carry logs felled in the Wombat Forest to a sawmill in Barkstead.

Through forest to a clearing with a gold sluicing dam, Mullens Dam, that in good seasons holds water (not recommended for drinking) but is a good spot for a break.

Downwards on old logging tracks through regrowth forest, finally crossing gravel 2WD Rocklyn Rd to Wombat Station.

No supplies. Toilets and water and camping with kitchen facilities at the Mollongghip Hall – contact Rhonnie Dryne on 03 5334 5201(AH) or email Rotunda to shelter in at Wombat Station.
