TOWNSHIP WALK/RIDE

TOWNSHIP WALK/RIDE (10.9 km)

Swans Rd car park – Bacchus Marsh Railway Station (EASY)

Undulating road from Swans Rd car park including a steep climb, then down a ridge with fine views to communications towers. Route to railway station has been obliterated by suburban expansion (signage to be upgraded 2019).

Turn right at Ramsay Crescent, then right again onto Halletts Way which is followed southwards for 3.5km through the suburban area to the Werribee River.

Veer right from Halletts Way just north of the river, following a concrete path which soon turns left and passes under Halletts Way.  Continue along a gravel track along the north bank of the river for 1.5km to Grant Street.

Cross here and turn right for 200 metres to Maddingley Park. Then take the walk/bike path through the park to its imposing gates. Directly opposite is the Bacchus Marsh railway station.
