Climb out of Womans Gully to reach clear views of the distinctive pine-clad, steep-walled crater of Mt Franklin. Over a ridge, dropping down to the head of Beehive Gully where sluicing for gold led to extensive gully erosion resembling a mini Grand Canyon 10-15m deep.
At the Chocolate Mill, cross the Midland Highway. Along gravel Sawpit Gully Rd for 4km before diverging onto a singletrack into bush. Steady climb up track above Tarilta Gorge before tracking along the ridge line with occasional northern views, then a gentle descent to Porcuoine Ridge Road.
