DESCRIPTION:DATE: Sunday August 23rd\nTIME: 9.15am for 9.30am start\nDURATI
 ON: 12km\; back at start 3.00pm\nWALK LEADER: Barry Golding\, 0427216337\n
 DIFFICULTY: Hard\; all off-track on private land with fences\, sometimes s
 teep and rocky grassed slopes.\nDESCRIPTION:\nThis walk includes part of t
 he Gurutjanga Cultural landscape in southern Dja Dja Wurrung Country. It s
 tarts in old growth red gum woodland and rocky grasslands on an elevated\,
  uncultivated volcanic plateau. The steep gorge we walk down and along int
 o includes the valleys of McLachlan &amp\;\; Joyces Creek\, cut deeply int
 o tightly folded Ordovician bedrock. On the steep walk back up to the plat
 eau we will visit privately owned Kooroocheang Falls.\nRegistered particip
 ants will meet in Kooroocheang (exact location to be notified)\, then driv
 e to start of walk\, parking along Williams Road\, leaving several cars on
  the roadside at the end of walk. The entire walk is on remnant private gr
 assland and woodland north of Williams Road\, then steeply down into ‘Wi
 ld Pig Gorge’ then east for lunch in the Gorge\, before climbing up to K
 ooroocheang Falls and walking south back onto Williams Road.\nNB: We have 
 generous\, one-off permission for this walk\, entirely on private land\, f
 rom private landholders. On no account should participants anticipate visi
 ting or returning to the area in which we are walking.\nDOGS: Dogs are de
 finitely not allowed on this walk .\nREGISTRATION: Registration is essent
 ial no later than day before. Numbers are llimited.\nCheck your email for 
 confirmation of registration. If you don’t get one within a couple of ho
 urs\, try again or contact the walk organiser.\nBRING: Walkers should brin
 g their own first-aid kit and any required personal medications\, water bo
 ttles\, sunscreen and personal hiking gear (sunglasses\, walking sticks\, 
 small pack\, etc.). Wear clothing appropriate for the predicted weather co
 nditions on the day. Hiking boots or good walking shoes are recommended\, 
 ideally with leggings for walking through long\, wet grass. Bring lunch an
 d a cuppa to enjoy in the bottom of the Gorge.\nNon-GDTA members who regis
 ter will pay $10 in cash on the day to cover visitor walker insurance.\n\n
