Three falls at Lal Lal
DATE: Wednesday August 12th
TIME: 9.45 for 10am start
DURATION: 2 hours plus lunch at the end of the walk. 6.5km in total.

DESCRIPTION: We will visit three sets of falls, heading into the Lal Lal Reservoir. All are pumping hard at present and you can expect to gaze at huge plumes of spray at both the Lal Lal and Moorabool Falls. Walking is on a wide posted, sandy track with only gentle inclines, apart from narrow footpads down to the falls. Many old growth manna gums on the park-like plateau with spectacular views into columnar incised gorges where the falls thunder. We will have lunch in a shelter back at the Lal Lal Falls Reserve, where toilets are available. There’s a short track from the reserve to the site where acclaimed landscape artist Eugene Von Guerard sat to paint his view of the Lal Lal Falls back in the mid-19th century.
DOGS: Dogs are allowed on the walk but must be kept on a leash.
REGISTRATION: Registration is essential no later than day before
Check your email for confirmation. If you don’t get one within a couple of hours, try again or contact the walk organiser. Non members of the GDTA need to bring $10 cash to pay for insurance.
BRING: Walkers should bring their own first-aid kit and any required personal medications, water bottles, sunscreen and personal hiking gear (sunglasses, walking sticks, small pack, etc.). Wear clothing appropriate for the predicted weather conditions on the day. Hiking boots or good walking shoes are recommended. Bring lunch for the conclusion of the walk. Toilets available then.
