Bendigo Regional Park, No.7 Reservoir, Crusoe Reservoir and beyond.

This 10Km circuit walk in the Bendigo Regional Park takes in No.7 and Crusoe Reservoirs which were the start of Joseph Brady’s Coliban Irrigation scheme, to provide drinking water to Bendigo in the early gold-rush days. Coliban Water www.coliban.com.au
have produced a pamphlet called Joseph Brady’s Coliban System of Water Works, that includes a timeline from the 1850s to now.
We will walk to the ridge overlooking Lockwood South with views of surrounding hills Mount Alexander, Mount Tarrengower and beyond.
There are remnants of gold diggings throughout the park with some interpretive signs.
The park is notable for its stands of Ironbark and Box trees. Bird life abounds especially around the shores of Crusoe and No.7 Reservoirs.
The walk is rated easy/moderate with one steady incline and decline. Sturdy shoes and waking poles are
recommended as there are rocky sections on one of the tracks.
HEALTH AND SAFETY: If you are ill on the day of the walk, please stay at home. Please call or text the walk leader to say you are unable to attend.
GUEST MEMBERSHIP AND INSURANCE: The walk is free to members and open to non-members. For non-members, a $5 insurance levy is payable for cover under the Bushwalking Victoria insurance policy. Please note that children under 5 years cannot be covered by this policy.
It is recommended, you carry a first aid kit, your own medication, drinking water and food for morning tea and lunch.
