Muckleford Wildflower Walk 2809

Muckleford Wildflower Walk and Photo competition
DATE: Sun September 28
TIME: 10.00 AM for 10.5 start. 5-7km Walk duration is approximately 3.5 hrs.
LOCATION: Between Vaughan Springs & Fryerstown
WALK LEADER: Ed Butler, Gib Wettenhall & Tanya Loos
DESCRIPTION:
Due to a scarcity of almost any wildflowers in our intended destination we have changed to the Muckleford Forest, where as of Tuesday 23rd there were myriads of flowers.
This is our annual wander through the bush in (hopefully) wildflower season, once again Gib has donated a bottle of Premium Red Wine for the best wildflower picture taken on the day.
We will spend time finding, identifying and photographing wildflowers, Tanya will explain the phone app iNaturalist. which is used as a tool to identify the flowers found. Take the time to add the app to your phone before you come on the walk and develop a little skill in it’s use.
Ed will no longer lead through the trackless Upper Loddon Forest to some significant historic relics, water races, flumes and tunnels but rather wander around part of the Muckleford forest
DIFFICULTY: The walk is rated Easy. The overall elevation gain is less than 200 m.
