Dharrang Gauwa / Mt Tarrengower GDTA Walk
DATE: Sunday 8 December
TIME: 9.15am for a 9.30am start; includes BYO lunch; finish approx 1.00pm

DISTANCE: 8km
WALK LEADER: Barry Golding
DIFFICULTY: Medium; includes a long climb on a rocky track to the tower on the
mountain’s summit.
DESCRIPTION: This interpretive walk to the summit of the Dharrang Gauwa / Mt
Tarrengower explores a number of lesser known legacies and sites, environments and
vistas in central Dja Dja Wurrung Country. It includes sites on the edge of Maldon and
excellent vistas from the Lookout Tower on Dharrang Gauwa’s hornfels and granite
summit.
DOGS: Dogs on a leash are allowed.
REGISTRATION: This registration link be will active a fortnight prior to the event;
numbers are limited; registration closes two days prior to the event.
RELATED EVENT: At 2.00pm in Maldon Community Centre (Sunday 8 Dec, soon after
this walk), Barry Golding is giving a public presentation called ‘Dharrang Gauwa
Speaks’ focusing on lesser known legacies. Registration is not required: all are
welcome.
