DESCRIPTION:Castlemaine Heritage Walk\nDATE: Wed April 8\n\nTIME: 9.30 for 
 a 9.45 am start. Walk length approximately 6 km with an estimated duration
  2 - 3 hours including stops.\n\nLOCATION: Castlemaine. Start point: Railw
 ay Hotel car park (on the western side of Barkers Creek\, behind the Castl
 emaine Railway Station).\n\nWALK LEADER: John Lewis ph: 0418 316 227\n\nDE
 SCRIPTION: From behind the Castlemaine Railway Station\, the walk will pas
 s through the Camp Reserve then circuit the former Government Camp\, estab
 lished in 1851\, and pass original Camp buildings including the former Cou
 rt House\, Sheriff Colles’s house\, Commissioner Bull’s residence\, th
 e former Military Quarters\, etc. We will then climb the “Freedom Trail
 ” to the old Castlemaine Gaol to take in its view across the township\, 
 continue to the Castlemaine Botanic Gardens\, then back through the town c
 entre to the starting point. Unfortunately\, the perfect location for lunc
 h\, the Railway Hotel\, is closed on Wednesdays\, but there are many other
  good eateries in town.\n\nDIFFICULTY: Easy. The walk will be along footpa
 ths and walking tracks.\n\nDOGS: Welcome\, but must be on leads.\n\n\n\n\n
 \n\n\nHEALTH AND SAFETY: If you are ill on the day of the walk\, please st
 ay at home. It will be Summer so keep an eye on the expected temperature\;
  we cancel events at late notice if too hot\, fire bans etc. Please call o
 r text the walk leader if you are unable to attend.\n\nGUEST MEMBERSHIP AN
 D INSURANCE: The walk is free to members and open to non-members. For non-
 members\, a $10 fee is payable for insurance cover under the Bushwalking V
 ictoria insurance policy. Please note that children under 5 years cannot b
 e covered by this policy.\n\nBRING: It is recommended\, you carry a person
 al first aid kit\, your own medication\, water bottles\, sun screen and pe
 rsonal hiking gear (sun glasses\, walking sticks\, small pack\, etc). Wear
  clothing appropriate for the predicted weather conditions on the day.\n\n
 BOOKINGS: Bookings are essential and open 2 weeks before the walk.\n\nChec
 k your inbox for a confirmation email\; if you don't get one within a coup
 le of hours\, try again or contact the walk organizer\n\nYou may cancel yo
 ur booking by returning to this page and clicking the cancel button. This 
 will free up a space for other walkers. If the walk is full\, you can elec
 t to be put on the waiting list. You will be emailed if a space becomes av
 ailable. You have 24hrs before the space is withdrawn and offered to the n
