SUMMARY:Little River\, Brisbane Ranges 2707
DESCRIPTION:\n\nLittle River Gorge\, Brisbane Ranges NP\n\nDATE: Sunday 27
July 2025\n\nTIME: 9.15am for a 9.30 start. The walk duration is approxima
tely 3 hours including stops.\n\nLOCATION: The walk will start and finish
at a carpark in the Brisbane Ranges National Park\, approx 30 km south of
Ballan.  Car pooling may be required for the last 8km to the starting poi
nt as the last section of road is fairly steep and has rough gravel so it
is not ideal for small 2wd cars. Meeting location will emailed to register
ed walkers prior to the event.\n\nREGISTRATION: Registrations are essentia
 l before noon on Thursday 25 July.\n\nWALK LEADER: Peter Boadle   M: 040
 7 826 902    E:  peter.boadle@gmail.com\n\nDESCRIPTION: This is a rela
tively short walk of only 5km\, but don’t be fooled because it will be s
low going!  About half of the walk will be “off track”\, and this inc
ludes walking over rough and rocky terrain beside the upper reaches of the
Little River\, several stream crossings\, and a very steep 120 metre clim
b/scramble  through bushland.\n\nDIFFICULTY: The walk is rated hard becau
se of the rough and potentially slippery  “off track” sections beside
the Little River\, stream crossings\, and a steep climb through bushland.
Sturdy boots\, walking poles and a sense of adventure are recommended.\
n\nHEALTH AND SAFETY: If you are ill on the day of the walk\, please stay
at home. Because the walk follows a streamline in rugged terrain\, the wal
k will be cancelled if there is significant rainfall before the walk\, or
forecast for the day.  Relatively low water levels are essential for our
safety.   Please call or text the walk leader if you are unable to atten
d on the day.\n\nDOGS: Dogs are not permitted as the walk will be within t
he Brisbane Ranges National Park.\n\nGUEST MEMBERSHIP AND INSURANCE: The w
alk is free to members and open to non-members. For non-members\, a $10 fe
e is payable for insurance cover under the Bushwalking Victoria insurance
policy. Please note that children under 5 years cannot be covered by this
policy.\n\nBRING: It is recommended\, you carry a personal first aid kit\,
your own medication\, water bottles\, sun screen and personal hiking gear
(sun glasses\, walking sticks\, small pack\, etc). Wear clothing appropri
ate for the predicted weather conditions on the day. Bring light refreshme
nts for breaks.\n\nBOOKING: Bookings are essential on the GDTA website. Yo
u may cancel your booking by returning to this page and clicking the cance
l button. This will free up a space for other walkers. If the walk is full
\, you can elect to be put on the waiting list. You will be emailed if a s
pace becomes available. You have 24hrs before the space is withdrawn and o
ffered to the next on the list.\n\nApproximate Location Here\nTo Login to
