DESCRIPTION: We will be road testing an 8 km section of the circuit walk that has been developed by Sue Donelly and Paul Kukiel of Blackwood and District Historical Society in collaboration with GDTA. This walk will be published in the forthcoming Lerderderg Track Guide. Both Paul and Sue have a deep knowledge of Blackwood’s fascinating history and the many physical reminders in the landscape. The walk will include Red Hill and Golden Point Townships, the Chinese Camp, the Cemetery, the Police Camp, log cabins and water races. There will be a special focus on Blackwood’s pioneer women who were prominent in the town’s commercial development.
