Vale Barry Hunter
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our long-time member, Life Member and committee member, Barry Hunter, last Thursday after a second bout of heart trouble, Barry was in his 83rd year.
Barry joined the GDTA in the 90’s and eventually the committee driving from Bendigo to Daylesford for many meetings. He was a keen walker and lead a few walks in the Bendigo surroundings over his time until his first bout of heart trouble and he was forced to curtail his activities. This didn’t lessen his commitment to the GDTA as he became our northern representative and book distributor, he kept his eye on our water point on the Coliban Channel
Walkers greatly appreciated his excellent dry wit and sense of humour.
The Committee of the Great Dividing Trail Association extends its deepest condolences to his wife, Joan, and his family.
The funeral for Barry Hunter will be this Thursday September 4th at 11am. A thanksgiving service will be held at St Luke’s Anglican Church, 492 Napier St, White Hills. Following refreshments, a committal service will be held at the Bendigo Lawn Cemetery commencing at approximately 1330.
