Eaton Dam (Brian Lanigan memorial walk and lunch)

TIME: 9:15 for a 9:30 start

DURATION: 8KM – Allow 3 Hours

DESCRIPTION: This walk will start from Cosgrave Reservoir car park, near Creswick. We head off around the reservoir following Creswick Creek though tall forest with abundant birdlife.
The track then gets onto “The Flume” a water race high above Creswick Creek which brings us downstream to Eaton Dam which was built from stone and earth to supply water for sluicing during the gold rush era.
The walk will conclude with picnic lunch in remembrance of Brian Lanigan a life member and treasurer of the association who loved to walk in this area.

No Toilets. No Dogs. No Swimming. Fishing allowed. Bring your fishing gear, a prize will be awarded for the first catch.

BRING: Walkers should bring their own first-aid kit and any required personal medications, water bottles, sun screen and personal hiking gear (sun glasses, walking sticks, small pack, etc). Wear clothing appropriate for the predicted weather conditions on the day. Hiking boots or good walking shoes are recommended. Bring light refreshments for morning tea and a picnic lunch.
