Goldfields Track Closures in Hepburn Regional Park

Following severe storm damage over recent years, an 11.6km section of the Goldfields Track(GT) within Hepburn Regional Park has been closed to the public. Also closed pending repair is the Sailors Falls Loop which is often used as a link to the Goldfields Track.

The main section closed is from Twin Bridges Picnic Ground on the western edge of Daylesford to Golden Spring on the northen side of Hepburn Springs. Parks Victoria and DJAARA, who jointly manage Hepburn Regional Park, are working to reopen this track and the many features it passes as soon as possible.

Twin Bridges Picnic Ground, Bryces Flat, The Blowhole and Golden Spring are open to day visitors, but the Goldfields Track joining them is closed. Sailors Falls Picnic Ground is also open.

The GT near Sailors Falls can be accessed from Telegraph Road.

Parks Victoria publication Hepburn Regional Park Storm Damage Update – Autumn 2023 gives more information.

A map showing a suggested temporary diversion, which allows walkers to bypass the closure via Daylesford township and Kidds Gully, has been prepared by the GDTA . It is available for download free of charge. A GPX file for navigation is also available.
