Paul is walking GT in 7 days!
While walking the Goldfields Track along Canadian Creek this morning I met walker Paul carrying a full overnight pack. This immediately sparked my interest and he was more than happy to stop and chat for ten minutes.
Paul, who is a fencing contractor from Terang in western Victoria, had set out from Mount Buninyong a couple of hours earlier, and plans to arrive in Bendigo next Thursday walking solo, covering up to 40 km in a day.
He was aware of the GT closure north of Mollongghip and plans to detour around it. Tonight’s target is the Glen Park State Forest west of White Swan Reservoir.
I wish I had thought to ask him for contact details so as to keep track of his progrress as some of our members might have liked to say hello as he passed. As he will average about 30km per day, you might estimate his location and meet up with him. I’m sure he would like that.
Best of luck, Paul.
