Paul Walks Goldfields Track in 5.5 Days
Paul Chapman from Terang in western Victoria walked into Bendigo Station at 10-15 this morning to finish his 210km Goldfields Track walk in 5 days and 5 hours.
Looking quite fresh he told how much he enjoyed the trek, particularly the section through Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park with its numerous relics of a bygone era.
He was particularly happy with the track marking with only 2 points where missing posts hindered his progress, but he managed to overcome these issues with little stress.
Paul was met at Bendigo station by GDTA members Tim Bach, Jenny James and Bill Casey. Tim presented Paul with a GDTA cap and recent editions of the GDTA POST. Jenny replenished Paul’s foodstocks with buttered hot-cross buns, and was the official photographer for the occasion. The group then adjourned for coffee and a lengthy chat at a nearby cafe.
Well done, Paul.
