GDTA Guided Walk – Sunday October 24

Upper Loddon River

Time: 9:15 for a 9:30 start

Distance: approximately 10k (4 hours total including breaks) Walk Leader: Tim Bach

DESCRIPTION: This walk will roughly follow Walk 16 – Rugged Upper Loddon from our new Central Highlands Walk and Ride Circuits booklet. Much of the walk is along faint animal tracks or overgrown vehicle tracks. It includes a mining ruin and follows a section of the Loddon Water Race constructed in the 1860s.  The wildflowers are in bloom, the bush is lush and green and the river is quite high so it will be a lovely walk given some decent weather.

REGISTRATION: Register on-line by clicking on this link.
If you have difficulty with on-line registration, email timothy.m.bach@gmail.com or call/text 0409 232 572

HEALTH AND SAFETY: COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time of the walk will apply. Currently we are restricted to 30 walkers. If restrictions on group size change prior to the walk, this may affect our group size.

BRING: Walkers should bring their own first-aid kit and any required personal medications, water bottles, sun screen and personal hiking gear (sun glasses, walking sticks, small pack, etc). Long pants are recommended because there is tall grass along some of the tracks. Gaiters are a good safety precaution. Wear clothing appropriate for the predicted weather conditions on the day. Bring light refreshments and a lunch.

MEET: Location and time details will confirmed on registration. Registrations are essential before noon on Friday, October 22.
