The Mines and Ruins of Sailors Gully

Sunday August 22nd near Vaughan Springs
Time 9.30Walk
Grade Medium-Hard
Leader Ed Butler

The walk will be about 12 km and will be off-track for several km through light scrub.
The walk will be part of the forthcoming GDT book of short walks but will deviate to take in an extensive set of ruins, mines and sluiced gullies dating from the 1850’s. We will visit the Tubal Cain mine which has a cornish hill-side chimney and an archeological dig of an 1850’s chinese store.
Owing to some rough parts and slippery gullies, good boots & walking poles are recommended.
Bring a lunch, water, personal 1st aid kit and a sense of humour.
Covid restrictions allow us a group of 30 as long as we don’t re-unite families and keep a social distance.
At this time Metro residents are excluded, sorry😒.

Please register via the following link and submit a separate form for each walker. https://gdt.org.au/aug-walk-rego
Where to meet etc will be provided after registration.
