GDTA Walk on Sunday July 25 Garfield Water Wheel and Welsh Village
Leader : Mick Evans
This is a 10.5km walk through typical central Victorian goldfields bushland, taking in the historic sites of the Garfield Wheel and the Welsh Village, where we will have brief stops and explore some of the history of the area. The wattle should be in full bloom and the bush will be looking at its best. Some parts of the track may be slippery and there are a couple of steep pitches. The walk surface varies from good bush tracks to narrow walking tracks.
Walking poles and sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Caution should be observed as there are a number of very steep mine shafts in the area.
Bring water, lunch and a personal first aid kit.
A short car shuttle may apply.
Numbers are restricted. Please register via the following link and submit a separate form for each walker. Where to meet etc will be provided after registration.
